Revelation 20:1-3

Revelation 20:1-3

  1. Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the abyss and a heavy chain.
  2. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent – that is, the Devil, or Satan – and chained him up for a thousand years.
  3. The angel threw him into the abyss, locked it, and sealed it, so that he could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were over. After that he must be set loose for a little while.

Possible Interpretation:

The angel in this prophesy may represent everyone’s Guardian Angel busily providing Inner Inspiration through one’s Inner Voice with encouragement to follow one’s conscience, practice the Golden Rule, and to participate in beautifying the world, each in her or his own unique way.

The dragon in this prophesy may be the Spirit of Selfishness that ignores the Inner Voice of one’s conscience, ignores the Golden Rule, and plagues human minds with illusions of pride, avarice, envy, lust, anger, gluttony, and sloth, thereby defacing the planet and creating misery for people everywhere.
